Top Ten Tuesday (7) Rewind: Books I Feel As Though Everyone Has Read But Me

(Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. To join in on this weekly meme, visit the blog here)

This week on Top Ten Tuesday it's a REWIND. I've chosen to do a topic I missed out on. This TTT topic was originally done on September 20th, 2011.

Top Ten Books I Feel As Though Everyone Has Read But Me (that I hope to read)

The original meme is just 'top ten books I feel as though everyone has read but me', but I added the 'that I hope to read' because I figured that would be more fun than putting on books I don't want to read. In no particular order...

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

I own this series, at least, but I have yet to get around to reading it. One day I will, likely when I'm on my next post-apocalyptic/dystopian kick, which is bound to be soon.

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

One day I will read this series. I've heard of its amazingness, so I will be adding it to my collection.

Article 5 by Kristen Simmons

Another one I need to get on my bookshelf. I'll likely just wait until the entire series is out at this point. But I've heard good things!

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

I have seriously heard nothing but good things about this series. I own the first one, at least. Once the third is out I will likely pick these up finally.

The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan

Confession: I own all of the published books, but I have only read up to Percy Jackson and the Titan's Curse. I'll catch up, I swear! Trying to avoid spoilers for this series is the most difficult thing, so I need to get on it! Hopefully before Blood of Olympus is out, because I just don't think I'll be able to stay mostly spoiler-free after that one.

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

This might be another one I wait for the whole series to be out. Maybe. I'll see if I can hold out that long.

Eragon by Christopher Paolini

I haven't even seen the movie (although I've been told that's not a bad thing), but this series has been out for over ten years. I'm a tad behind with this one, so naturally most people I know have read this one. It's another series I have on my shelf, though, so I'll get there.

Frostbite by Richelle Mead

Hey - I've at least read Vampire Academy. And I own the set, so I'll be getting to this one soon.

Looking For Alaska by John Green

The only John Green novel (not counting his short story in Let It Snow) that I've yet to read. It's on my shelf. I'll get there one day.

Wither by Lauren DeStefano

Another I own but have yet to read.

  1. You MUST read Looking for Alaska! I also haven't read a good chunk of those. I'm a little meh about the distopians at the moment. There's a lot of dust, some solar flares, a corrupt gov with a deadly secret, and a boy that's supposed to be off limits... Or maybe two...and he's probably involved in said deadly secret... ;)

I'm mega dying to read the Unbecoming of Mara Dyer but I'm waiting until book three comes out!

    1. Haha I have to admit, I love all of the dystopian stuff. Glad I'm not the only one who hasn't read most of these.

I'll pick up LFA one day, likely by the summer. I'm just waiting for another contemporary to kick to come on. The big thing that happens in the middle was spoiled for me (but it's been ten years since the book came out so I can't complain), so I'm not rushing to read it at the moment. If only you could unremember things haha

I'll likely wait until the book three for Mara Dyer is out as well and just read them all in a row

    2. I love dystopian with BIG worlds. Maze Runner, Hunger Games, Blood Red Road... but I get bored easily with straight romance that uses a vague dystopian setting to make it 'different'. Not that it's bad by any means, it just doesn't tend to hold my attention!

SUCKS about LFA! I wouldn't blame you if didn't read it! But if it's any consolation I ADORED Pudge. He was a fabulous character. The journey of the story to the spoiler point and after is still good.

We should buddy read Mara Dyer over a weekend because I have it on good authority that I'll LOVE them and will need someone to be excited with...

    3. I still want to read it, I just want to wait until I'm over the spoiler. It was a tumblr username that did it, haha. But again, ten years old, can't blame anyone but myself for being so behind.
I've been told the rest of the story is still good. At least it didn't happen at the end of the book. I might just not even bother if it was the ending. Spoilers ruin my day. Champion by Marie Lu was mildly spoiled for me (less than a week after its release!!!!) and I'm finally picking it up again and trying to get over it. Urgh. THAT one I can be angry about.

And yes yes! We should definitely buddy read Mara Dyer! I'm so in for that!

  2. Great pick. I haven't read many of these myself... although I did recently read the Under the Never Sky series and absolutely loved it. I would definitely recommend that one. Nice list :) My TTT.
